This is a hand-forged Hocho, or a kitchen knife, that optimizes the distinguishing characteristics of Swedish Steel. The blade is high carbon and high purity Swedish Steel known for its hardness. So the blade holds its sharpness for a long time and can be re-sharpened.
Clean and dry thoroughly the blade after use to avoid rusting. Warming it over a stove to remove moist may be more effective to keep the blade clean.
